Texas Old Town Wedding Guide

The Complete Guide to One of the Best Texas Hill Country Wedding Venues:

Everything You Need to Know Before Saying "I Do"

TL;DR

  • Texas Old Town offers four unique wedding venues on one beautiful property just outside Austin.

  • Each venue has its own ceremony site, reception hall, and personality.

  • One of the biggest reasons couples love Texas Old Town is the incredible amount of space and flexibility.

  • Every venue has beautiful locations for portraits, especially during golden hour.

  • If you're planning an Austin wedding or Texas Hill Country wedding, Texas Old Town remains one of my favorite venues to photograph.

Few venues in Central Texas have become as iconic as Texas Old Town.

Located just outside Austin in Kyle, Texas, this venue has become one of the most popular choices for couples wanting a beautiful Texas Hill Country wedding without sacrificing convenience.

As an Austin wedding photographer, I've photographed weddings at Texas Old Town throughout every season, and it's easy to understand why so many couples choose it.

Whether you're envisioning rustic elegance, towering oak trees, wide-open fields, or timeless Texas charm, Texas Old Town gives couples options that very few Central Texas venues can match.

Why Couples Love Texas Old Town

The biggest advantage?

Choice.

Instead of one wedding venue, Texas Old Town offers four completely separate venues on one property.

Each includes:

  • Private ceremony site

  • Dedicated reception hall

  • Separate bridal suite

  • Groom's suite

  • Outdoor portrait areas

  • Parking

  • Landscaped grounds

This means couples can choose the venue that best fits their style without compromising on guest capacity or experience.

It's also one of the most affordable large wedding venues in the Austin area considering everything included.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings Here

As a photographer, Texas Old Town checks nearly every box.

There are beautiful portrait locations in every direction.

The property is filled with mature trees, open fields, walking trails, bridges, swings, native grasses, and rustic architecture that all photograph beautifully.

Even if timelines run behind, there are shaded areas available almost all day long.

Every season also looks different:

  • Spring wildflowers

  • Bright summer greens

  • Rich fall colors

  • Soft winter sunsets

That variety means no two weddings ever look exactly alike.

Sage Hall

If I had to choose one favorite...

It's Sage Hall.

Why?

Because it feels like you're getting married in the middle of the woods.

The ceremony lawn is surrounded by towering trees, creating soft filtered light throughout the day.

The large lawn provides plenty of room for portraits, family photos, and cocktail hour.

One of my favorite features is the wooden swing, which always creates timeless, romantic portraits.

Sage Hall feels secluded while still being just minutes from Austin.

Stone Hall

Stone Hall offers one of the largest reception spaces on the property.

Inside you'll find beautiful natural stone walls, exposed beams, and plenty of room for larger celebrations.

Outside, the ceremony area opens directly toward a large field.

Once sunset arrives, this becomes one of my favorite locations for golden hour portraits.

The soft light behind the ceremony site creates dreamy, glowing images without needing to leave the venue.

Redbud Hall

Redbud Hall has one major advantage.

Its direct access to one of the largest open fields on the property.

If golden hour portraits are high on your priority list, this venue is hard to beat.

The field creates gorgeous sunsets year-round while still offering mature trees nearby for daytime shade.

Couples wanting those iconic Texas sunset portraits usually love Redbud.

Tejas Hall

Tejas Hall has one of the largest bridal suites available at Texas Old Town.

That extra space makes getting ready much more relaxed, especially for larger bridal parties.

Outside you'll find:

  • Beautiful bridge

  • Peaceful brook

  • Large shaded trees

  • Walking paths

Because of the shade, Tejas also photographs beautifully even during hot Texas summers.

Favorite Portrait Locations

No matter which venue you choose, there are incredible portrait opportunities throughout the property.

Some of my favorite locations include:

  • The Sage Hall swing

  • Open golden fields

  • The Stone Hall field behind the ceremony site

  • The Tejas bridge

  • The creek and brook

  • Large oak trees

  • Long tree-lined paths

  • Rustic fencing

  • Ceremony aisles after guests leave

What Makes Texas Old Town Perfect for Austin Weddings?

One reason Texas Old Town continues to be one of the most popular Austin weddings and Texas Hill Country weddings venues is how flexible it is.

Unlike many venues that only offer one ceremony location, couples can choose the atmosphere that best matches their wedding vision.

Whether you're dreaming of:

  • Rustic elegance

  • Wooded ceremony sites

  • Classic Texas landscapes

  • Elegant stone architecture

  • Large receptions

  • Intimate celebrations

Texas Old Town has an option that fits.

It's one of the few Central Texas venues that truly offers something for almost every wedding style.

Photography Tips

If you're getting married at Texas Old Town, here are my biggest recommendations.

Plan for Golden Hour

The fields become absolutely magical during sunset.

Even just 15–20 minutes outside can create some of the most memorable images from your wedding day.

Build Extra Time Into Your Timeline

The property is large.

Allow a little extra walking time between locations so your day feels relaxed rather than rushed.

Take Advantage of the Shade

Texas summers can be intense.

Fortunately, every venue has mature trees that create beautiful soft light throughout much of the day.

Don't Skip Night Photos

The market lights, reception glow, and evening ambiance make for some of my favorite images of the entire wedding day.
